HOPEFULL SERVING UP 5,000 PIZZAS A DAY TO DISASTER-STRUCK COMMUNITIES ACROSS UKRAINE

The charity HopeFull (www.HopeFull.org.uk) has a clear mission; to bring hope to war-torn and disaster-struck communities through a simple meal of pizza, delivered with warmth and compassion. 

HopeFull has been on the ground since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and through the work and commitment of hundreds of volunteers has served over 2 million pizzas across the country - in regions from Kharkiv to Odesa, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, often where other Western agencies are rarely found.  

From the team’s permanent site based in Lviv, they run daily trips to single, or multiple locations to reach internally displaced people. In just two and a half years, HopeFull has amassed 350 volunteers, served 2 million pizzas, and visited over 1,800 sites across Ukraine.

The support from dedicated volunteers on the ground and the boost to morale it provides offers significant hope to communities. The volunteers are central to the delivery of a warm meal, serving thousands of pizzas and soft drinks on a daily basis. However, beyond this, volunteers also engage and connect directly with the Ukrainian people and the communities, which brings a hugely important reassurance that they haven’t been forgotten and that people around the world are supporting them. It is this human interaction that is central to HopeFull’s mission.
